It Doesn't Pay to Drive in Georgia, Study Says

A study commissioned by a financial publishing company has discovered how much it costs to drive a vehicle in each of the 50 states, and Georgia’s rating is none too peachy.

According to the study by Bankrate, Georgia is the sixth-most expensive state in the nation for driving, when factoring in the cost of repairs, insurance, and gasoline. The study reports that Georgia’s repair costs are around $385, insurance costs $927, and gasoline costs $1,096 each year, for a grand total of $2,408.

The most expensive state in the union for drivers is Wyoming at $2,705, while the cheapest state is Iowa at $1,942. The Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that the average yearly cost for American drivers is $2,223.
