The driver of the Ford, Dawn Rey Remington, 47, allegedly drove into the northbound lane “to avoid a vehicle stopped in the southbound lane and struck the pedestrian,” said Georgia State Patrol spokesperson Tracey Watson.

Watson said neither Remington nor the passenger in her vehicle were injured. Remington was charged with first-degree homicide by vehicle, driving under the influence and expired tag. She was booked into the Bartow County Jail around 3:20 a.m. June 14 and remains there with no bond.
