"Miss Minnie" Rogers of Suwanee, who turned 100 in October 2010, died Sunday, according to city officials.
Services were to be held Wednesday at Suwanee Parish United Methodist Church on Brogdon Road, according to Elvira Rogers, her granddaughter-in-law and Suwanee's administrative services director.

Minnie Rogers was born the same year that Pierce's Corner was built in Old Town, according to an article in Crossroads, the City of Suwanee's official newsletter. Married at 14, she had 11 children.
She worked weekly for the city for 39 years before retiring in 2005. She had been in fragile health in recent years.

The Burnette-Rogers Pavilion in Old Town is named in part in her honor.
