Missing Senior With Dementia Found Safe in North Carolina

SUWANEE, GA — The search for a 78-year-old Gwinnett County man with dementia has been called off, after he was found safely in North Carolina.

The search for James Wiggins, of Suwanee, started on Thursday, when a friend called police and said Wiggins hadn't been seen for a couple of days.

The last time the friend said he saw Wiggins was on Interstate 85 North, when the pair were trailing each other in separate vehicles.

Wiggins was located by the Cabarrus County (N.C.) Sheriff's Office, Gwinnett County authorities said Tuesday.

He was placed with state Adult Services and removed from the national database as a missing person.
