Mucho Macho Man Preparing for Return
Third-place Kentucky Derby finisher may next compete in November in New York.

Mucho Macho Man, one of only three horses to run in all three Triple Crown races in 2011, is preparing for a return to the track. Owned by , "3M" may next run when the meet in Aqueduct opens Nov. 4 in Jamaica, N.Y., according to a report in the Daily Racing Form.
On Friday, Mucho Macho Man worked six furlongs in 1:11.40 over the Belmont Park, N.Y., training track, his so-called home turf.
“He worked good, he looked great, he finished well,” trainer Kathy Ritvo said. “He hadn’t been to the gate for a long time, so we thought we’d bring him there.”

Mucho Macho Man, a 3-year-old colt, finished third behind Animal Kingdom and Nehro in the Kentucky Derby. He then finished sixth in the Preakness and seventh in the Belmont Stakes. Mucho Macho Man was given time off and didn’t return to the work until mid-August. He worked four times from Aug. 12 through Sept. 2, but then got sick.
Also, a filly owned by Reeves Thoroughbred Racing, Miss Suwanee, ran last week in a $50,000 race at Belmont Park. However, Miss Suwanee did not finish in the money.
