North Gwinnett is coming off a victory over Suwanee rival Peachtree Ridge, and coach Bob Sphire knows his team will have to improve in the postseason.
Sphire noted Thursday that Johns Creek (of Region 6-AAAAAA) has "great fundamentals" and has "outstanding tacklers."
The school has been playing varsity football for four years.
"We always make our adjustments during the game," Sphire noted. The coach added that Johns Creek runs the ball well, "and that's big in Georgia during the playoffs."
The Johns Creek-North winner will take on the Grayson-Wheeler winner. The Collins Hill-West Forsyth winner will be paired with the Walton-Parkview winner.
The AAAAAA title game will be December 15 in the Georgia Dome.
