
Collins Hill and North Gwinnett claimed important Region 7-AAAAAA football victories Friday (Oct. 5).
COLLINS HILL 41, PEACHTREE RIDGE 10: Eagles QB Brett Sheehan was 21 of 28 passing for 301 yards and two touchdowns. The Eagles scored 20 points in the third quarter to remain unbeaten in the region. Next Friday, Collins Hill (4-1, 3-0) hosts unbeaten Norcross. "This is such a big rivalry game," Collins Hill running back Tyler Henderson told the Gwinnett Daily Post. "I love that score after last year's game (a Peachtree Ridge win).
NORTH GWINNETT 42, DULUTH 28: QB Michael Haynes had 145 yards rushing and two rushing TDs to lead the Bulldogs (4-1, 2-1). Duluth cut the score to 35-28 with 3:05 left. However, North recovered the subsequent onside kick. Three plays later, Haynes ran raced 45 yards for a TD. North travels to Mill Creek next week.
