Peachtree Ridge Dominates Roswell

Lions, Atwater score 31-2 road victory.

Peachtree Ridge of Suwanee put a hurting on Roswell Friday, beating the Hornets 31-2.

The Lions (1-1) got on the scoreboard early in the first quarter with a 61-yard touchdown reception by wide receiver Joe Horn.

After Roswell quarterback Ryan Monty was sacked, Peachtree Ridge punt returner Ahmad Harris made it 14-0 with a 42-yard punt return for a touchdown. Harris had an earlier punt return touchdown called back due to a penalty.

Connor Rouleau’s 28-yard field goal made it 17-0.

A 29-yard run late in the second quarter by Lions running back Diandre Atwater set up a 1-yard touchdown by quarterback Billy Best, making the score 24-0 with the Lions leading at halftime.

The Hornets could not contain Peachtree Ridge’s running attack, especially Atwater, who scored the Lions’ final TD on a 55-yard run in the third quarter.

Roswell’s lone two points of the night came off a botched snap by Lions quarterback Best that resulted in a safety.

Peachtree Ridge hosts Newnan next Friday.
