Peachtree Ridge QB Is Latest Standout

Best leads his team's recent win over Newnan.

Peachtree Ridge is a big-play team if ever there was one, and quarterback Billy Best is the latest example.

The Lions' quarterback was 15-for-20 passing with 219 yards last Friday as the Lions went over .500 with a win over Newnan in Suwanee. As such, he is this week's Suwanee High School Player of the Week.

Best's 46-yard TD pass to Joe Horn put the Eagles up 14-0 in the first half, and they were able to hold on from there.

Teammates Diandre Atwater and Ahmad Harris also have earned the honor this year.

The Lions (2-1) open region play Friday at Meadowcreek. And in an intra-city rivalry, North Gwinnett (2-1), ranked No. 7 in AAAAA, takes on Collins Hill (1-2) at the Eagles' home field.
