Rise & Drive - Community Collection and Festival
Community Charity Drive and Festival for the entire Community - Free children's activities, food vendors and entertainment for all ages
Stepping Stone Montessori School (both campuses) is organizing a RISE & DRIVE - COMMUNITY COLLECTION AND FESTIVAL during the week of November 10th to raise funds and collect food, clothes, toys and books to help local charities and organizations.
On Saturday Nov 15th, we will also host a Community Festival at both campuses, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. This event is open to the entire community and everyone is welcome. There will be plenty of children’s activities (Free), Food Vendors, Gift Baskets for sale, and more. The charities that we are supporting and raising funds and resources for are CURE Childhood Cancer and Family Haven.
CURE Childhood Cancer believes that childhood cancer can be cured in our lifetime. CURE is dedicated to conquering childhood cancer through funding cutting-edge research and through supporting patients and their families. www.curechildhoodcancer.org
Family Haven is a wonderful assistance program that offers refuge to women and children who have been victim to domestic violence. Family Haven is an advocate for victims and families of domestic violence providing shelter, programs and community education to end the cycle of violence. Their services are free of charge to all victims of domestic violence regardless of age, sex, race, and creed, marital and socioeconomic status. http://forsythcountyfamilyhaven.info
We hold this charity near and dear to our hearts and plan on hosting a charity event annually in November in memory of our younger brother Uday (Uday means Rise) who lost his fight with cancer in November of 2012 at a young age of 25.
SSMS Management, Staff and Parents will be contributing food, clothes, toys, books and monetary donations and will also volunteer time. This cannot be done by just a few hands, hence we are reaching out to all our friends, family and local business owners to assist in our efforts.
Some organizations who have already decided to partner with us are: Subway, Dickey’s BBQ Pit, Georgia Aquarium, Chick-fil-A, Fox’s Den Pizza, Totally Running, Sweet and Sassy, to name a few.
