Suspect in Custody After Suwanee SWAT Standoff

Gwinnett County Police say a 52-year-old man threatened his mother with a knife.

SUWANEE, GA — A SWAT standoff Wednesday in Suwanee ended with a suspect in custody and charged with threatening his mother with a knife.

Around 10 p.m. Wednesday, Gwinnett County Police were called to a home on John Stewart Place in regard to a domestic dispute.

When they arrived, the suspect barricaded himself inside the home.

SWAT units were called and, about an hour later, police were able to take Ceeyavash Salehi, 52, into custody.

Salehi was taken to Gwinnett County Jail, where he is charged with aggravated assault and simple battery for threatening his mother with the knife.
