All Suwanee High School Football Teams in Action This Weekend

It's the first full weekend of high school football in 2012, with all three Suwanee teams in action.

On Friday (Aug. 31), opens its season by hosting Gwinnett rival Central Gwinnett. Also Friday, heads for Lilburn to take on Parkview.

On Saturday, , coming off that exciting win over Colquitt County, will host A.C. Flora of South Carolina (6 p.m.). Earlier Saturday, Valdosta will take on North Augusta (S.C.) in the first game of the National High School Gridiron Challenge at North. The game between Pine Forest (Fla.) and Stephenson of DeKalb County has been canceled, because of the Florida team's travel problems caused by Hurricane Isaac.

Peachtree Ridge (0-1) was on the short end of a 42-0 score to Camden County last Saturday in the Corky Kell Classic.

North Gwinnett, under coach Bob Sphire, has won three straight region titles and is ranked No. 5 by the AJC, and No. 4 by the Georgia Sports Writers Association.

Flora's Aven Pollard rushed for 222 yards and five TDs in the Falcons' 51-36 victory last week, according to Georgia High School Football Daily. North was led offensively by QB Michael Haynes, who had 125 yards passing and 51 yards rushing.
