North Gwinnett, Peachtree Ridge Headed for Playoff Openers in Suwanee

This Friday's showdown between and will be for a region title and Suwanee bragging rights. But the teams' immediate playoff futures is somewhat clear.

North and Peachtree Ridge will finish 1-2 in Region 7-AAAAA regardless of Friday's outcome, and so will begin the playoffs at home Nov. 11-12 against 8-AAAAA teams. Brookwood and Archer are possible opponents.

, also in the playoffs despite a 1-3 start, likely will play at 8-AAAAA member Grayson in the first round.

The top four teams in each of the state's eight regions make the playoffs, according to GHSA rules.

Friday's game will be televised by Georgia Public Broadcasting and streamed live on gpb.org.
