Suwanee Student Movie Actor To Star in Gwinnett Play

Reis will expand her acting experience in 'The Jungle Book.'

Serra Reis, a student at Sharon Elementary in Suwanee, will expand her acting career when she stars in Disney's "The Jungle Book" at the Lionheart Theater in Norcross. The play runs Friday-Sunday, July 20-22.

“It felt wonderful to get the part,” Reis said in a news release. “I was jumping up and down when I got the call. I also madelots of new friends and love going to every rehearsal.”

Reis is a rising fifth grader at the Forsyth County school and is no stranger to the entertainment industry. She recently appeared in "The Three Stooges" movie, in "The Walking Dead" and as a photo-double in the movie "ID Theft."

“Sierra is loving this experience,” said Shannon Reis, Sierra’s mother. “She made lots of new friends with some talented kids. She also wanted to thank (15-year-old) Sam Casey for being such a great director because she always looked forward to going to every rehearsal.”

Reis said she “definitely” wants to be a professional actress when she’s an adult.

The song and dance version of the Rudyard Kipling classic opens July 20 with shows at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and runs July 21, 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and July 22 at 2 p.m. All seats are $10. Reservations are recommended. Log on to www.lionhearttheater.org call 678-938-8518.
