Suwanee's Moore Earns College Basketball Honor

The Collins Hill grad is recognized for her effort in UConn's historic victory.

Maya Moore, who played high school basketball at Collins Hill in Suwanee, has been named Big East Player Of The Week for her performance in a record-setting win by UConn.

Moore, a senior forward, scored 41 points and had 10 rebounds as the Huskies defeated Florida State on Tuesday for their 89th consecutive victory. That surpassed the previous NCAA record of 88, set by the UCLA men in 1971-74.

It's the third time this season and the seventh time in her career that Moore has earned this recognition. The Huskies also have won 69 straight at home.
