Sweetheart of a Race: 5K Run Set for Valentine's Day

Run with your sweetheart, friend, or hundreds of other enthusiasts at the Buford/North Gwinnett Rotary Club’s Suwanee Sweetheart Sprint on Saturday, February 14. Registration is now open at active.com and there’s a sweet deal for runners who sign up in pairs. The registration fee is $25 for individual runners; two people can sign up together for $40.
A Peachtree Road Race-certified 5K, the Suwanee Sweetheart Sprint begins and ends at Town Center Park with most of the course being along the Suwanee Creek Greenway. The race, hosted by the Buford/North Gwinnett Rotary Club, begins at 9 a.m.

Runners will receive a long-sleeve, tech/dri-fit official race shirt as well as other sweet give-aways. Festivities also include a Valentine’s-themed costume contest, “photo booth,” and cookies and hot chocolate following the race. The Suwanee Sweetheart Sprint is an annual fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Buford/North Gwinnett, whose members provide service and support for a variety of community needs and organizations, including the Salvation Army, Gwinnett County Public Library, North Gwinnett Co-op, Gwinnett Children’s Shelter, and North Gwinnett Interact Club.

The Rotary Club meets each week at noon on Wednesday at the Buford Community Center, 2200 Buford Highway. Meetings are open to guests and those interested in learning more about Rotary and “service above self.”
