Umaido Is Noodles, Japanese Style

The Suwanee restaurant boasts a variety of noodles.

Nestled in between several Korean restaurants in the strip in front of H-Mart in Suwanee sits Umaido, a Japanese restaurant with a particular specialty, noodles.

Umaido is not the typical Japanese sushi restaurant that many of us are accustomed to. Here, the menu is full of different choices of Ramen, like the current special, Tonkatsu Ramen. Tonkatsu is a lightly breaded pork and Ramen is the name of the noodles. The pork is thinly sliced and placed on top of the Ramen and broth along with garlic, green onions, and spices.

The broth is rich with flavors. The noodles are soft and cooked with the broth so that they are packed with the flavors of the pork and the herbs and spices.

While the Tonkatsu Ramen is the pick of the month at Umaido, there are several other varieties to choose from. Each and every choice has an equally flavorful broth sure to satisfy. Choices range from a vegetable Ramen, miso Ramen, to seafood ramen and spicy ramen.

Not a noodle person? Umaido also offers rice instead of noodles and broth options.
