Although Summer 2014 doesn’t officially come to a close until September 22 and the LanierWorld season remains in full swing on weekends until September 7, Georgia’s Lanier Islands is making plans for a “Last Blast of Summer” themed Labor Day Weekend of epic proportions.
Set to take place at the popular lakeside destination’s beach, boardwalk and waterpark district, the celebration will encompass four full days of fun from Friday, August 29 through Monday, September 1. The four-day event is sponsored in part by 97.1 The River and Miller Lite®, featuring special giveaways all weekend long – including suite tickets to an Atlanta Falcons game.

In addition to the weekend’s jam-packed calendar of events, Lanier Islands’ LanierWorld will be offering up its standard brand of fun in the sun with more than a dozen waterslides and attractions, carnival rides, great food, beach volleyball, talented boardwalk entertainers, and stretch of white sandy beach. Even SpongeBob Square Pants & Patrick will be making the trek from Bikini Bottom to LanierWorld for special appearances and photo ops on Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
For guests who don’t want to limit their Labor Day Weekend celebration to just one day of fun, the resort is offering a Labor Day Extravaganza accommodation package for as little as $289-329 per night, based on night of stay. The package includes: Luxurious overnight accommodations at the Legacy Lodge – which was just named a member of the Southern Living Hotel Collection, daily buffet breakfast for four at Windows Restaurant, $50 resort credit per night of stay, and eight passes to Lanier World or Sunset Cove Beach.
