3 Teens Injured, Man Arrested In Quinceañera Shooting In Chamblee: Reports

A man is facing charges after being accused in a shooting that injured a 16-year-old and two 14-year-olds at a Chamblee quinceañera.

CHAMBLEE, GA — A man has been arrested in connection with a shooting that injured three teenagers Saturday at a quinceañera in the 4300 block of Buford Highway, media reports say.

The shooting happened around 12:45 a.m. in Chamblee and injured a 16-year-old boy and two 14-year-old girls, WAGA-TV reported. One of the three reportedly suffered life-threatening injuries.

The man accused in the incident, identified as Israel Rojas, was arrested after a fight led to the shooting, WXIA-TV reported.

After the incident, a police sergeant leaving a traffic stop saw Rojas run behind a business and jump a fence as he headed toward the Buford Highway-Dresden Drive intersection, reports say.

A police lieutenant later arrested Rojas in a nearby parking lot, WXIA-TV reported, adding a gun was recovered along the path he ran.

DeKalb County Jail records on Monday showed Rojas, of Austell, faces three counts of aggravated assault and three counts of second-degree criminal damage to property.
