DeKalb Rotarians sponsor Electronics Recycling Event to benefit local non-profit FODAC
Northlake and Stone Mountain clubs collect electronics and funds to benefit the disabled community

The Rotary Clubs of Northlake and Stone Mountain sponsored an Electronics Recycling Day on Saturday, 1 November in Tucker. First Christian Church of Atlanta hosted the event, which benefitted Friends of Disabled Adults and Children (FODAC). The Rotarians collected 16 large cartons of electronics at the event, from about 120 donors.
Working electronics were donated to FODAC for resale at its Thrift Store at Stone Mountain. Proceeds from these thrift store sales will support FODAC’s mission to provide home medical equipment, such as wheelchairs, walkers and shower benches, to those with mobility impairments, at little or no cost to the recipients or their families.
Non-working electronics will be recycled through partnerships with FODAC and aggregate recyclers.

The Rotarians also collected over $800 in cash donations from participants in the recycling event; these funds will also go towards supporting FODAC’s work in the disabled community.
Smooth Mooove Senior Relocation Services supplied a large truck and driver for the event.
