“If you want to be healthy and live to 100, do qigong.” -Dr. Oz (The Oprah Show 11/1/07)
Qigong (chee-gong) is an ancient Chinese healing exercise commonly used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for preventative health as well as disease management. Qigong is a moving meditation, it consists of slow gentle movements and breath control. The intent in Qigong is to cultivate and circulate external Qi, the life energy that surrounds us. The movement patterns are gentle enough for anyone while being challenging enough for even the most conditioned athletes. People who practice Qigong regularly experience increased focus, immune function, balance, flexibility, and general good health for life. Qigong has been shown to aid in weight control, increase bone density, create mind-body awareness, reduce stress, and increase circulation and healing potential.
