Hornet Hustle at Hawthorne Elementary

Hawthorne Elementary School is celebrating the second annual Hornet Hustle on Friday September 14^th at 9:00 AM.  The Hornet Hustle succeeded in raising $50,000 in honor of Hawthorne’s 50^th anniversary last year and the Hornets are hoping to match that number during this year’s Hustle. The Hornet Hustle is the school’s biggest fundraiser of the 2012-13 school year benefitting the PTA and Foundation. Students kick-off with a pep rally on August 20, then participate in four weeks of fundraising that culminates with the Hornet Hustle, a 1k run/walk/roll around the neighborhood with spectators cheering them on.  Surrounding streets are officially closed and the music is pumping as students, parents, staff, neighbors and alumni make the fundraiser a fun and successful community event. Keep your eyes open for Hornets as they buzz around the neighborhood gathering donations. And cheer for us on September 14 for the big event!
