McDonald's Owner Talks About Roof Collapse

McDonald's owner andΒ operator John Tamasi issued a statementΒ Wednesday regardingΒ the awning and partial roofΒ collapse of his restaurant on Chamblee Tucker Road.

"While I am troubled that a portion of my restaurant’s awning collapsed, I am very thankful that no customers or employees were injured," he said.Β "The restaurant is closed while we work with authorities to understand the cause of this incident."

It happened at lunchtime Tuesday, when aΒ large section of the roof and awning suddenly gave way, collapsing onto the ground over the main entrance.Β 

"As soon as we confirm that the building is secure and does not pose any risk to customers or employees, I plan to reopen and look forward to once again working with my restaurant team and serving our customers," Tamasi said.
