New Tucker Flea Market Aims to Be One-Stop Shop
A diverse group of vendors so far, with more on the way.
If you've driven along Lawrenceville Highway recently you may have noticed a grand opening sign for the Tucker Flea Market. Just two weeks old, the flea market has big ambitions.
"We felt the area needed a flea market," said Aziz Damani, the managing partner for the flea market. "There are a lot of different ethnic groups in this area that we thought could benefit from a place like this."
Damani and his partners began plans for the flea market in February after doing demographics research on the Tucker area. Vendors were recruited through billboard advertising and selected with the intent to reflect the diverse community of Tucker.

“I though the flea market was a great way to introduce my business to the neighborhood,” said Janice Franklin, owner of Feeling Pretty Lingerie. “People are still figuring out that the flea market is here but the response I’ve gotten from customers so far has been very positive.” Feeling Pretty Lingerie was created in 2007 and since then has created lingerie for women of all shapes and carries sizes up to 6X.
Prior to opening the partners decided the Tucker Flea Market would bring a different aesthetic than what's typically expected of market locations.

"It's really more of an upscale mall than a flea market," said Damani. "We have beautiful glass windows and a lot of unique vendors."
A trip inside the market shows a range of wares for local shoppers; there are movies for purchase, kids clothing, hair care products, custom t-shirt designs and birds for sale. In addition to its current vendors the flea market intends to include a hair salon, bakery, Cajun restaurant and carnival in the coming weeks.
The Tucker Flea Market is located at 3965 Lawrenceville Highway and is open Thursday- Sunday from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m. On Saturday and Sunday parents are encouraged to bring their kids to play in the moon bounce in the front parking lot.
