Tucker High Advances to State Football Finals

Tigers knock off the defending state champions.

Tucker High School will play for the Class 5A football championship.

The Tigers beat defending champ Gainesville 20-14 Friday in a Georgia High School Association semifinal game at Hallford Stadium.

Tucker, winner of the Class 4A title in 2008 and 2011, played inΒ the semifinals for the fifth time in seven seasons.

The Tigers improved to 14-0; Gainesville ended its season 12-2.

Tucker will play Creekside for the 5A championship Friday at 8:30 p.m. in the Georgia Dome. Creekside advanced with a 55-10 win over Kell Friday.
