Waffle House Robbery Led to Shootout, Two Arrested
The suspects who allegedly robbed the restaurant crashed their getaway car into a pole then shot at DeKalb County Police. No one was injured

Two men were arrested by DeKalb County Police after a robbery at a Waffle House restaurant that led to a shootout.
Around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, two men reportedly robbed the Waffle House on Lavista Road near Interstate 285, according to Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
“One of our officers was actually across the street, handling a separate call. So, he was able to respond quickly,” DeKalb County Interim Police Chief James Conroy told WSB TV.

When police arrived on scene, they saw the suspects drive off in the getaway car, but they didn’t get very far, WSB reports. The suspects drove across the street and crashed the car into a pole in the parking lot of Target.
The suspects fled from the car and shot at police who were running toward them, according to AJC.

The police officers fired back, WSB reports. No one was struck or injured.
The two suspects fled into the nearby woods, but police were able to track them down and arrest them.
