• 4 people wanted for questioning in 2023 Lumpkin Road killing (wrdw.com) — Richmond County deputies are looking for four people they want to question about a 2023 homicide and say one of them is known to frequent the Waynesboro area. Investigators are asking anyone who sees these individuals or knows where they are to contact the sheriff’s office. The case involves a Lumpkin Road shooting that left a 28-year-old man dead.

• Over dozen Georgia hospitals to receive funds to avoid closing, keep staff (wsbtv.com) — Burke Medical Center in Waynesboro is set to receive new federal grant funding aimed at helping rural hospitals keep their doors open and retain staff. The money comes from a national program championed by Sen. Jon Ossoff and will support essential services like emergency and inpatient care. Several other small Georgia hospitals will also benefit from the grants.
