2017 Cherokee County Fair Starts Sept. 19

The 91st annual fair will run Sept. 19-24 at the American Legion Fairgrounds in Canton.

CANTON, GA -- A hint of fall is in the air and that can mean a few things around these parts, one of which is the return of the long-running Cherokee County Fair. The 91st annual event is just days away, and is slated to bring a week of family-friendly fun to the American Legion Fairgrounds in Canton.

This year's fair will begin Tuesday, Sept. 19 and run through Sunday, Sept. 24 at 160 McClure Street in Canton. Admission is free for children 5 and under and citizens 65 and older, $2 for children 6-12 and $4 for teens and adults aged 13-64.

Gates will open at 5 p.m. Tuesday, 3 p.m. Wednesday, 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Vehicle parking will be coordinated by Cherokee High School's JROTC, which will charge a $2 donation for each car (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Returning this year will be the 12th annual Miss Cherokee Fair Pageant, which will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24 on the main stage. Also set for 2017 will be the Youth Dog Show scheduled to take place on the main stage at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 21.
