2018 Woodstock Roots Concerts Begin May 17

This year's series will transition from bluegrass acts to showcasing local Americana and folk artists.

WOODSTOCK, GA — Main Street Woodstock is putting the final touches on its 2018 Woodstock Roots concert series. These shows will be held on the third Thursday of each month from May to August on the Elm Street Arts Village Event Green.

The shows are free to attend, and you are encouraged to bring your own blankets, lawn chairs, food and beverages. Each show kicks off at 7 p.m. and will wrap up around 9 p.m.

The series has been centered around bluegrass since its inception in 2016. However, this year's series will transition from regional bluegrass artists to feature local Americana and folk artists.

The 2018 lineup for Woodstock Roots is:

  • Thursday, May 17 – Chip Maguire Band
  • Thursday, June 21 – Cody Bolden
  • Thursday July, 19 – Kurt Wheeler
  • Thursday, Aug. 16 – Jonathan Peyton

The Elm Street Event Green is located on Market Street adjacent to the Noonday Creek Trail in downtown Woodstock. It is home to the Resurgens Orthopaedics Community Stage.

“We wanted to highlight the amazing local artists we have in Woodstock this summer through Woodstock Roots music nights,” said Marketing Manager Stacy Brown. “I think transitioning from a strictly bluegrass series into Americana, folk and roots will reflect the vibrant energy of Downtown Woodstock.”
