Ball Ground Fire Injures 1, Destroys Home

The cause of the fire Saturday is still being investigated.

BALL GROUND, GA — A person was injured, and a Fletcher Drive home is destroyed, after a Saturday night fire near Conns Creek Road, according to Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services.

The fire occurred around 10:45 p.m., according to the department. When crews arrived, they found the home heavily involved in fire, according to the department.

Fletcher Drive was shut down, and crews shuttled water from the closest fire hydrant to the scene using multiple fire engines, fire officials said.

Five people lived in the home. The person who was injured was helped by fire personnel but did not want to be taken to the hospital, fire officials said.

The American Red Cross is assisting the family, according to the department.
