Car Crashes Into Cherokee Fire Station, Prompts Temporary Closure
The wreck Sunday caused a man to be taken to the hospital for treatment.

WOODSTOCK, GA — Units at Fire Station 24 are temporarily being relocated after a car crashed into the station, a transformer and the station's backup generator Sunday, according to Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services.
The station, located in the River Park subdivision, has no power, fire officials said. The temporary closure of Fire Station 24 will last about two days, the officials said.
According to the department, firefighters from inside of the station heard a loud explosion around 4:45 p.m. A man was still inside of the car that crashed into the building.

Units housed at Fire Station 24 will temporarily relocate to neighboring stations and will be staffed as usual, fire officials said.
The Woodstock Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident.
Simultaneously, there were 24 River Park residents who were without power but Cherokee Fire said the outages are unrelated to the one at Fire Station 24.
