Celebrate Your Super Heroes on Friday in Downtown Woodstock

The May installment of Friday Night Live will also include a screening of "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1."

The May 1 installment of Friday Night Live will give residents a chance to celebrate all things super hero related.

Don your Batman, Superman or Avengers costume and take part in the festivities along and around Main Street, which also includes many downtown merchants staying open and offering special deals between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

Along with a monthly theme, Friday Night Live also features great music as bands play throughout the central business district in front of various businesses.

Residents who dress up as their favorite super hero will have a chance to win prizes in a contest that will start at 8 p.m. in front of The Wright Stuff Collectibles at 8846 Main Street.

The top three costumes will win prizes & the winning costume will win a $100 Downtown Woodstock gift certificate and prizes donated by downtown merchants.

A panel of judges will select the winner. Some of the merchants who have donated prizes for the contest include Reformation Brewery, Dress Up Boutique and The Wright Stuff.

Friday Night Live will also feature the first installment of Northside Hospital-Cherokee’s Movies in the Park series.

A screening of “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1” will start at 8:30 p.m. at the Park at City Center. Other merchants will offer special deals and live music in front of their doors. Elm Street Arts and the iThink Improv Troupe will also hold performances.
