Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services Promotes 11

During ceremonies held at the Cherokee County Fire Training Complex, 11 Cherokee County firefighters were promoted.

CHEROKEE COUNTY, GA — During a Sept. 5 ceremony, 11 Cherokee County firefighters were promoted at the Cherokee County Fire Training Complex, located just south of Holly Springs.

After a brief welcome from Cherokee County Fire Chief, Tim Prather, 11 firefighters were asked to come forward to receive their promotion warrant.

Jeremy Simmons, Alisha Payne and Geordan Ganka were all promoted to the rank of Sergeant.

Five firefighters were promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, and they were Sgt. Cheri Collett, Sgt. David Burnaugh, Sgt. Paul Faulkner, Sgt. Benjamin Pearson and Sgt. Waylon White.

Promoted to the rank of Captain were Lt. Danny Carter and Lt. Brandon Carr. Jamie McCord was also promoted last night to the rank of Battalion Chief
