Cherokee County Fire Chief, Tim Prather, thanked Daniel for his service to the county and presented him with his “bugle” award. The bugle or speaking trumpet is a reference to a megaphone like device that was used in the early days of the fire service.

After the presentation, Prather asked several of the chiefs if they had any comments to say about working with Shane. One of the most emotional comments came from Fire Investigator Cheri Collett, who worked under Shane’s guidance over the past few years.
