UPDATE: Missing Cherokee Resident Found in North Georgia

Calvin Leroy Ball, 83, who was last seen leaving his home Monday afternoon in the Univeter Road area, has been located in Cleveland.

UPDATE at 3:43 p.m.: Cherokee Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Lt. Jay Baker said Calvin Leroy Ball has been found ”safe” in the north Georgia town of Cleveland.

“We appreciate the assistance provided by the media and the public in getting the information out about his disappearance,” he added.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has issued a Mattie’s Call for the 83-year-old Cherokee County resident reported missing on Monday.

Lt. Jay Baker with the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office said the agency is still looking for Calvin Leroy Ball, 83. Ball, who lives in the Univeter Road area near Canton, was last seen leaving his home around 3 p.m. Monday, May 18 going to either The Home Depot or Lowe’s.

Ball was last seen wearing denim overalls possibly with a white T-shirt and a blue or grey hat that says, “Number One Papa.” Ball is driving a brown 2010 Honda CR-V with Georgia tag BJY6199.

Baker added Ball does not have a cell phone. He also said all hospitals in the metro Atlanta area have been contacted, but none of the establishments have had contact with Ball.

Anyone who sees Ball is urged to call 911.
