Cherokee Resident To Star In 'Swamp Murders' Series
Savanna Renee, 21, will appear in the show's new episode, which will air at 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7 on the Investigation Discovery channel.

WOODSTOCK, GA -- Savanna Renee can't remember a time when she wanted to pursue a career that deviated from her love of acting. The 21-year-old is constantly in search of roles that will allow her to perfect and improve on her skills as an actress. On Oct. 7, you will be able to watch this Cherokee County resident work towards that goal, as she is set to appear in Investigation Discovery's "Swamp Murders" series.
The upcoming episode, entitled "Point Of No Return," will chronicle the deaths of two teenage girls during their spring break trip on a remote Florida beach. This is Renee's first appearance on Investigation Discovery's hit show, a re-enactment series that recounts the deaths of people whose corpses are typically found in bodies of water.
Renee said she was chosen by a casting director who saw an audition of one of the scenes in the show (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app).

Renee's path into acting isn't one she stumbled upon, she told Patch. Ever since she was little she, she has always dreamed of moving to Hollywood and getting into the entertainment industry. As a youngster, Renee took part in theater productions, an activity that lasted throughout her high school career. Once she graduated, she began doing background extra work.
“It got me motivated to get started (with) professionally acting," she said, adding that being on set is "amazing."

For the ID show, Renee said she filmed on site for six days, but added the full episode took about two weeks to shoot. In order to channel the emotions necessary to pull off what was needed from her as an actress, Renee said she took the lessons she learned in class -- drawing from one's life experiences -- and used those tribulations to successfully portray her characters.
“That really helped me a lot," she said.
Now that she's completed her role for the ID television, show Renee said she's in the midst of auditioning for various roles in an industry that's "very competitive." For the future, Renee told Patch her dream job would be to star in a television series that runs for five to six seasons.
"I’m open to movies, TV shows, theaters, etc," he said.
Knowing that the cut-throat industry is tough to break into for those who want to appear on the big or small screen, Renee said anyone who has dreams of becoming an actor or actress should begin taking classes or workshops to help fine-tine their skills. She also said it wouldn't hurt to pursue background work, which gives one an idea of what it's like to work on a set and learn the lingo industry veterans use while filming.
