Cherokee Safety Town Teaches Kids About Summer Risks

Every summer, Safety Town educates an average of 240 5-year-olds about how to stay safe during the summer months.

WOODSTOCK, GA -- Registration for Cherokee County Safety Town is now available online. Every summer, Safety Town educates an average of 240 5-year-olds about how to stay safe in the water, around animals, poisons, or strangers, on the school bus, their bicycles, or the sidewalks, in the car, or in case of an emergency such as a fire.

There are three weekly sessions available this year on June 3 - 7, June 10 - 14 and June 17 - 21 at Bascomb Elementary School, 1335 Wyngate Pkwy, Woodstock. Safety Town is held from 9 a.m. until noon daily.

The $85 registration fee covers five days of safety education, a t shirt, a medal and snacks. Sessions fill up quickly, so parents are encouraged to register online.
