Cherokee State Court Receives Clearance Rate Excellence Award
The court maintained an average clearance rate of more than 100 percent over three years, closing more than 34,000 civil and criminal cases.

CANTON, GA — The Cherokee County State Court recently received an award recognizing its impressive ability to clear cases brought before its judges.
The court was one of seven to receive the prestigious Clearance Rate Excellence Award, which is given by the Judicial Council of Georgia's Administrative Office of the Courts. There are 72 State Courts in Georgia.
Chief Judge W. Alan Jordan and Judges A. Dee Morris and Michelle Homier maintained an average clearance rate greater than 100 percent over the three-year study period, closing more than 34,000 combined civil and criminal cases in State Court, the county said in a press release.

The State Court of Cherokee County handles all misdemeanor and traffic criminal cases filed with the Clerk of Courts. It also serves as a forum for civil litigants in a wide variety of cases, its website said.
