Christmas Jubilee, Parade of Lights Set For Saturday

WOODSTOCK, GA -- Saturday is sure to serve up plenty of holiday cheer as the city of Woodstock hosts its annual Christmas Jubilee & Parade of Lights festivities.

The city's events kick off at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 with food, arts, crafts, and gifts vendors who will all set up shop at the Park at City Center.

Residents are encouraged to stop by to do some shopping or grab some food before the parade kicks off at 5:30 p.m. Roads will close to through traffic at 4:45 p.m. for the parade as well as the 3K Egg Nog Jog, which will begin at 5 p.m.

The 20th annual Christmas Jubilee & Parade Of Lights will start at Woodstock Elementary School on Rope Mill Road and march south along Main Street and end at Sam's Club at Highway 92.

Road closures, which are expected to remain in place until around 7 p.m., will take place at the following intersections: Main Street at Sam's Club, Serenade Lane, Bowles Drive, Ingram Street, Barnesdale Terrace, Dupree Road, Fowler Street, Oak Street, Elm Street, Mill Street and Dobbs Road; Arnold Mill Road at Hubbard Drive, East Main Street and Main Street; Rope Mill Road at Woodstock Elementary School, Kyle Street and Rusk Street; and Towne Lake Parkway at Woodstock Parkway and Main Street.

Following the parade, be sure to head back to the Park at City Center and meet with Santa Claus in person at the gazebo to give him your wish lists. Mayor Donnie Henriques and Santa will flip the switch to light up the Christmas tree as well as the park.

Enjoy the holiday festivities in the Park at City Center with a cupcake decorating station, music, entertainment and free children's activities.

Henriques and Santa will also announce the parade float winners. The categories are: Best Holiday, People’s Choice and Most Original.

Please consider bringing an unwrapped present as Woodstock Jaycee’s are collecting toys for their annual Christmas Toy Drive. The I-Care movement will also be collecting toiletries, blankets, towels, socks, gloves, and hats for the homeless in Cherokee County.
