First, today's weather:
A t-storm around in the p.m. High: 84 Low: 71.
Here are the top five stories in Woodstock-Towne Lake today:
- The Woodstock City Council is set to discuss SPLOST this evening at the City Council Meeting at the Chambers at City Center at 7:00 p.m. Woodstock is estimated to receive $49.5 million (over six years) if the 2024 Special Purpose Sales Tax passes tonight. (Cherokee Tribune Ledger News)
- A 20-year-old man in an Alabama jail is being charged with the murder of Cherokee County man William Watkins, 42. Watkins went missing in June and investigators found his bound three days later. Jacob Huckabay will be extradited back to Cherokee County and will be charged with murder with malice for Watkins' death. (WSB-TV)
- The Service League of Cherokee set a goal of providing 100 lunches for Must Ministries so kids in need don't go hungry. The group surpassed that goal and packed 117 breakfast/lunches for this service project. (Service League via Instagram)
- The Woodstock Police invite residents to join them over a cup of coffee on Jul. 12. Black Rifle Coffee Company will host the event from 9:00-10:30 a.m. for the men and women of the police department to have informal conversations with the community. (Woodstock Police, GA via Facebook)

- As part of AMPED in the Park for Woodstock's free monthly fitness classes, Strive Fitness will hold an outdoor workout at 9:00 a.m. on Jul. 16. The workout will take place at the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Amphitheater. (The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
