Collins Defeats Baxter By 30 Votes in City Council Race
Preliminary election results show Tracy Collins will represent Ward 4 on the Woodstock City Council.

A one-term Woodstock City Council member will return to the seat she lost four years ago to the current incumbent.

That’s according to preliminary election results, which show challenger Tracy Collins defeating incumbent Liz Baxter to serve as the Ward 4 representative.
Collins defeated Baxter with 54.6 percent, or 178 votes. Baxter received 45.4 percent, or 148 votes.

Collins was initially elected to the Ward 4 seat in 2007 when she defeated Baxter, who held the seat for four terms before she was ousted.
Baxter made a comeback in 2011 when she defeated Collins for the seat.
Ward 2 candidate David Potts and Ward 6 incumbent Rob Usher both ran unopposed in the Nov. 3 municipal elections, which saw just 326 votes cast in the race. The city of Woodstock has 13,479 registered voters.
