Construction For WellStar Cherokee Health Park Starts in 2017

The development will be build in two phases on a 60-acre site on Sixes Road in Holly Springs.

HOLLY SPRINGS, GA -- WellStar said it will begin construction next year on its much-anticipated Cherokee Health Park.

Building on the facility starts in late summer 2017, and it's expected to be completed in 2018. The nearly $80 million facility will serve as a one-stop-shop for patients, "providing convenient access to world-class healthcare," WellStar said.

The Cherokee Health Park will be built in two phases on a 60-acre site on Sixes Road near Interstate 575 in Holly Springs. With 85,000 square feet of space, Phase 1 will include physician offices, medical imaging, urgent care, a sleep center, cardiac diagnostics, lab outreach and physical therapy.

WellStar has pioneered the concept of health parks in Georgia. Once it's up and running, Cherokee County residents will be able to see their doctor, have necessary tests performed and get prescriptions filled at one location, said Joe Brywczynski, senior vice president of health park administration and development.

“Over the next decade, we expect to see outpatient services continue to grow," he added. "WellStar is leading the way by offering innovative solutions and world-class healthcare.”

With 1,216 team members living in Cherokee County, WellStar is committed to meeting the community’s healthcare needs and is the leading provider of inpatient healthcare to Cherokee County residents.

Phase 1 represents a $39.6 million investment in Cherokee County, the company said.
