Costco Set To Open Woodstock Store In Early August

WOODSTOCK, GA — Those who are behind the Costco Wholesale stores cropping up in cities around the country are preparing to open its 11th Georgia location in Cherokee County.

Costco is slated to open its 150,000-square-foot store along Ridgewalk Parkway in early August, said Guy Delmonte, the southeast region operations manager for the company. Delmonte said the company will begin accepting on-site job applications in July at the store, which will also include an 18-pump gas station.

Costco currently has about 300 employees who have put in existing requests to transfer to the new store, and officials are in the process of going through those submissions. Costco expects to hire about 200 employees to start at the store, and half of those will be from a pool of local applicants.

“We’re excited to be in Woodstock, and we’ve wanted to be there for some time,” Delmonte said

For those who may not be familiar with Costco, the company operates as a membership warehouse club "dedicated to bringing our members the best possible prices on quality, brand-name merchandise," according to its website.

The nearest locations are at 645 Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw, 2900 Cumberland Mall SE in Cobb County and 2855 Jordan Court in Alpharetta. Other Costco locations are in Brookhaven, Sandy Springs, Duluth, Cumming, Buford, Morrow and Ft. Oglethorpe. If you are interested in applying for a position at Costco, visit the company's website.
