The city of Woodstock's event to celebrate the improvements will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, July 17.
WOODSTOCK, GA -- The city of Woodstock is inviting the public to attend its official ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of the boardwalk and fishing pier at Dupree Park.
The ceremony will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, July 17 at the park, which is at 513 Neese Road.
The project was constructed by Woodstock Parks and Recreation and Public Works staff and "because of their hard work and dedication, the project was completed on-time and under budget," the city notes.

“I am very proud of our team for the job well done on this project and believe citizens and visitors of Woodstock will enjoy this addition to Dupree Park," added Preston Pooser, Woodstock Parks and Recreation director.
Additionally, an electrofishing, or lake audit, of the Dupree Park lake was conducted on July 6. Crews working with Aquatic Environmental Services used the procedure to determine the health of the fish population at the lake. The results of the study can be viewed online; Woodstock Parks and Recreation staff are reviewing the findings and plan to stock the lake as recommended.
