WOODSTOCK, GA — An 85-year-old woman died Wednesday afternoon from injuries she sustained after she was hit by a vehicle in Woodstock. Officers with the Woodstock Police Department were dispatched around 12:18 p.m. May 2 to the crash on Trickum Road north of Ga. 92.

According to the Cherokee Sheriff's Office, a vehicle driven by Aaron Miller, 20, of Woodstock, was traveling northbound on Trickum Road when he saw a pedestrian in the road.

When he swerved to miss the pedestrian in the road, he drove onto the sidewalk and struck Diana Scott. The person Miller was trying to avoid hitting was a relative of the victim, who was also a Woodstock resident, said Cherokee Sheriff's Office spokesperson Sgt. Marianne Kelley.
