Elderly Woman Injured In Holly Springs Crash

A landscaping truck collided with an SUV before crashing into a home Friday morning in Cherokee County.

HOLLY SPRINGS, GA -- A woman was injured Friday morning when a landscaping truck crashed into her small SUV and then into a two-story home in Holly Springs.

Crews with Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services were dispatched around 9:30 a.m. Oct. 13 to the scene on Fox Creek Boulevard, which is located in a neighborhood off Old Highway 5 near Wendy's.

Firefighters arrived on the scene to find the truck struck a Honda CR-V, "went over a small tree" and crashed into the residence, the fire department said. She was transported to Northside Hospital Cherokee for treatment. The occupants of the landscaping truck, which damaged the front part of the home's garage, were not injured. The residents inside the home were also not injured.

Cherokee County fire spokesperson Tim Cavender said the Holly Springs Police Department is investigating the crash.
