Guests will be able to purchase tables and bring their dinner with them as they enjoy a concert version of the Broadway production. With this project focusing on the music, director Nick Morrett plans to back his cast with a full orchestra.

“When we reviewed 'The Secret Garden' last year to potentially produce, the committee kept talking about how beautiful the music was,” said Elm Street Executive Director Christopher Brazelton. "So when we finally decided to do it, we all felt that it was best to just focus on the music and make that as spectacular as possible.”

Based on the 1911 novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, the story follows Mary Lennox, a 10-year-old English girl born and raised in India who is orphaned by a cholera outbreak.

She is sent from the British colony to the English town of Yorkshire to live with relatives whom she has never met. Her own personality blossoms as she and a young gardener breathe new life into a neglected garden, as well as to her sickly cousin and uncle.

There are only three productions that will be performed, and they will include a wide variety of Elm Street’s past talent and new members.

“This will be one of our most vocally talented casts ever,” Brazelton stated about the show's 16-member cast.

While you won’t be able to bring alcohol to the event, Elm Street will provide beverages for sale.

The event green is located at 111 Elm Street and is adjacent to the Noonday Creek trail. For more information, visit www.elmstreetarts.org.
