Elm Street Brings Monty Python’s 'Spamalot' To Woodstock

This May, in partnership with Wade Heating & Air Conditioning, Elm Street Cultural Arts Village will present Spamalot the musical.

From Elm Street Cultural Arts Village: Rude Frenchmen, cancan dancers, the Lady of the Lake and her Laker Girls, Killer rabbits, catapulting cows, and the somewhat odd Knights who say "Ni" are just part of the adventures and dangers awaiting King Arthur and his knights of the very, very, very round table in their quest for the holy grail.

This May, in partnership with Wade Heating & Air Conditioning, Elm Street Cultural Arts Village will present Spamalot the musical, lovingly ripped off from the motion picture, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. This hilarious Broadway hit and parody of the Arthurian legend was nominated for 14 Tony Awards, winning 3, including Best New Musical for 2005.

Spamalot also features numerous references to "Monty Python's Flying Circus" television skits like the Lumberjack Song, Spam, and the Dead Parrot Sketch, while some of Broadway's cherished musicals are skewered along the way including a spoof of Andrew Lloyd Webber, Fiddler on the Roof, West Side Story, Man of La Mancha, Les Misérables, and The Producers.

Leading the quest is King Arthur (Bradford Leak) with his trusty servant Patsy (Ray Amell). Playing his gallant knights - and a broad assortment of other characters - are Craig Popham as Sir Lancelot the Homicidally Brave, Ben Norman, as Sir Robin the Not-Quite-So-Brave-as-Sir-Lancelot, Zach Roe as Sir Galahad, the Dashingly Handsome, Darrell Meek as Sir Bedevere, the Strangely Flatulent, and Jillian Melko as The Lady of the Lake.

At the helm of the creative team behind Spamalot, Nick Morrett returns to the Elm Street Stage once again to direct, and has help with Beth Ballinger’s music direction, and Faith Beber’s choreography.

With each show there is an engagement opportunity for audiences to partake in. From a Monty Python sketch challenge, to a Young Professionals of Woodstock preshow power hour and even a special Mother’s Day treat for all those Monty Python Mom’s out there.

Spamalot will play:
