It will take place 2 p.m. Saturday, April 25 at Woodstock Visitors Center at Dean’s Store.

“Main Street Sessions will be a free, fun and informative activity for people to take part in,” said Jenna Hill, Woodstock’s tourism Information coordinator. “We will have them a few Saturdays each season, and since we are kicking them off in the spring, we thought it would be great to have a session geared towards butterflies and gardening. In the future, we plan on having sessions that incorporate cooking demos and art classes.”

Main Street Sessions: Invite a Monarch to Lunch will focus on providing habitats for monarch butterflies. We will discuss what the needed components of a habitat are.

This presentation will introduce the life cycle of these fascinating creatures and how easy it is to help sustain them in our own backyards. Learn how your garden can become a haven to attract butterflies and other pollinators through Monarchs Across Georgia’s Pollinator Habitat Certification program and the national Monarch Watch Waystation program.

There will also be some fun coloring activities for the kids. Also taking part in planning and organizing this session is GROW (Green Reaps Opportunity for Woodstock). They are the design committee for Main Street Woodstock. They will be there to answer any gardening and design questions you may have.

The visitor’s center is at 8588 Main Street. For more information, visit the Woodstock Convention and Visitors Bureau’s website or contact Hill at jehill@woodstockga.gov or 770-924-0406.
