“He is hoping for a larger turn out this year,” she said, adding he was able to get his school to publicize the fundraiser during morning announcements, made fliers and created a Football for the Cure Facebook group.

Wharton added organizers are expecting about 25 boys to come out this year, and Jameson hopes to raise $500 on Sunday.

The cost is $5 to play, and other donations will be accepted. All proceeds from the event, including concessions, will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

Dupree Park is located at 513 Neese Road. For more information, visit the Football for the Cure Facebook group.
